Love the specials, not high priced ,always nice staff, comfortable sitting. Small restuarant but good selection of homemade style dinners ..love the food.

Eat there on 11/2/2019 at arond 10 am Bad service did not get all are order. And the food was nasty and cold not cooke right and both my self and my husband got sick that night

Edited to add that they are still doing a fantastic job in the midst of this Covid Chaos. Classic place for breakfast! Wife loves their bisquit and gravy. Very good coffee. Everything else was great too. Very sweet server

We visited late Saturday night and our group ordered a lot of food. The waitresses were very nice and professional. Food was good!!!

I love the hot fudge cake and my husband always gets pints and beans! This restaurant is an Ashland staple for country cooking.

Homestyle meals, friendly service

The staff at JJ Restaurant are a great bunch. I think they have the best family atmosphere in Ashland. The food is very good, and they make their own desserts. Prompt with refills as well. Keep eating there people, it's an institution in town. I'd hate to see it become a casualty of Covid 19.

- The staff is friendly. - Greater than average cleanliness. - Mini tacos, loaded potato skins are great(though when I got them, it felt like Lucifer himself delivered them, no standby time, just seemed like fryer to table) - Loaded cheese fries are good. - Burger is no frills, seems like a frozen patty; Very dry, just "meh."I've had other dishes from here and they are exponentially better than the burger. Moral of the story: if you like frozen burgers, you'll love the burger here. If not, I'd recommend ordering something else.TLDR;Great staff. Is clean. Mini tacos, loaded potato skins are good. Fries are good.My experience the appetizers were really hot for about 5 Mins. Burger is dry, no frills. Order something else unless you like frozen burgers.

Wonderful home cooked meals. Always good. Took my niece from out of town, now she always go there when she is in town. Works for me!

The food and service was good. I had the chicken and dumplings it was delicious. For dessert I had the strawberry short cake it was really good. I will go back and eat here again

Home cooking like a grandma's, Excellent!

Love this place but the steak i received last visit was not eatable. It was truly nothing but fat and at that was way over cooked. First and only bad experience though!

Coupd be better

We have been going to J & J for many years. We have always had great service and the food is magnificent! The liver and onions is our favorite. So tender and tasty. The cole slaw is the best I’ve ever had. The cornbread is fabulous ( I’d love to have that recipe!!). Just about melts in your mouth. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

As a family diner you can't beat this. The staff is friendly, if you order the special your food is delivered before you finish your first joke. And it's good, solid home cooking.

Good food

The food was fair at best the girls that served it were very nice and polite maybe just was a bad time of day should I eat there

It was busy when we went so maybe it's not the best time to judge. But while the food was only ok, the service was not good at all. The "famous" corn bread is just plain horrible, avoid it. The pork chops my wife got we're pretty good though. Wish I'd gotten them myself. Instead I got the foot long hot dog which was just ok. Overall it was an ok experience and the price is reasonable.

Eggs were undercooked. Wanted runny yolks but not the white to be runny

I have placed several call in orders and the amount you get is much smaller than while eating in, very over priced fried mushrooms...I would not consider 6 small pieces an order. Cornbread is delicious, roast beef and pork chops yummy.

Home cooking? My entire meal was from a freezer.

No better place for home style food in this area. The cornbread is my favorite.

The food was pretty good and I'm a picky person so it had to be close to heavenly. But the waitress my mother and I had was JUST A DOLL!!! She went above and beyond the call of fast food and made our lunch that much better. Didn't catch her name but she outta get a.raise for making an d man like me think he was you g and in a decent world again. Of your reading this young waitress. I thank you for all you did for us!

I always enjoy the liver and onions at JJ's. It is, by far, the best in my humble opinion.

It has home cooked food, polite waitress and they are always making sure u have or want refills. Just down home wholesome food.
